This course is designed for beginner learners in bricklaying, block work, and carpentry who want to develop practical computer skills that directly support their trade training and workplace readiness. Instead of learning computers as a separate subject, students apply digital tools to real construction-related tasks such as documenting projects, preparing quotations, organizing work records, and managing simple business operations.
Throughout the program, learners gain confidence in using computers, word processing, spreadsheets, and basic online tools while working with examples relevant to construction and woodworking industries. Students learn how to create digital portfolios showing their practical work (such as furniture, structures, or masonry projects), prepare cost estimates and quotations using spreadsheets, communicate professionally through email, and explore basic marketing for small trade businesses.
By the end of the course, learners will understand how digital technology supports modern construction and carpentry work and will have foundational digital and entrepreneurial skills that help them move toward employment, apprenticeships, or starting small construction-related businesses.
